Description

As the earth rotates, the stars appear to revolve around the celestial north pole. In this shot of star trails, over a Homer Alaska neighborhood, you can see the trails left by stars in the long exposure image. Polaris, the north star is the bright streak near the center of the concentric circles.

As you can see in this image, Polaris is not quite at the celestial north pole.
